Roseann Douglas, 84 of Monroe, GA, died on Tuesday, June 12, 2018.
Roseann is survived by her husband, Wayne Douglas of Monroe, GA; children, Lisa (Mike) Lancaster of Lawrenceville, GA, and Michael (Deborah) Douglas of Loganville, GA; grandchildren, Marc and Jessica Lancaster of Dacula, GA, Laura and Glenn Mitts of Norcross, GA, and Jordan Douglas of Plano, TX; great-grandchildren, Collin, Matthew and Peyton Lancaster; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, John (Ramona) Douglas of Westerville, OH, Mary Nelle Douglas of Effingham, IL, Marna (John) Herron of Estes Park, CO, and Maxine Douglas of Dallas, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lorene Wheeler, age 92, of Elizabethtown, IL, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Hardin County General Hospital in Rosiclare, IL.
Lorene was born January 23, 1926 in a small town of Briar, MO. She was the oldest child of Earnest and Izel (McKinney) Mathis.
Lorene accepted Jesus at the age of 15 in a small country “Church of God”. She was baptized there also.
Lorene married Hope Wheeler on April 6, 1946 and from this union was born Roxie (Larry) Palmer, James Melvin (Darlene) Wheeler, Earnest Anthony (Deborah) Wheeler and Gary (Kaye) Wheeler.
She leaves behind her children; six grandsons; eight great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Lawrence (Jetty) Mathis of Doniphan, MO.
Lorene was preceded in death by her husband, Hope Wheeler; grandson, Zachary Wheeler; brother, James Mathis; and two sisters, Shelby Bennett, Arvada McKnight,
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Elizabethtown, IL. Rev. Ed Lafferty will conduct the service. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church. Interment will follow at Cave Hill Cemetery in Cave-in-Rock, IL.

David “Punky” Barnard, 61, of Harrisburg, died Tuesday, July 17, 2018 in Cookeville, TN. David was born in Eldorado on December 12, 1956 to Ray and Marie (Kaylor) Barnard. He was retired from the Illinois State Prison System, Shawnee Prison.
Surviving are his parents, Ray and Marie (Kaylor) Barnard; children, April (Jon) Clark of Marion and Scott Barnard of Marion; grandchildren, Destinie Ocampo and Kiley Boaz; girlfriend, Willie Allen of Eldorado; brothers, Terry (Debie) Barnard of Cave-In-Rock and Randy (Judith) Barnard of Cave-In-Rock; sisters, Gail (Doug) Thompson of Raleigh, Diann (James) Grace of Eldorado, Linda Rigsby of Ft. Myers, FL, Teresa (Bill) Hanley of Eldorado and Cynthia (Danny) Matlock of Springville, AL; and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Skylar Ocampo and Mikey Boaz.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at the Watson Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Arthur Austin Jr. officiated. Burial was in Wolf Creek Cemetery. Visitation was held on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Graveside services are scheduled to be held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Peters Creek Cemetery with burial to follow.
Glen Denton Logan, age 63, of Harrisburg passed away at 1:45 p.m. Thursday July 12, 2018 at his residence.
Glen was born January 9, 1955, in Rosiclare, to the late Earl and Lucille (Denton) Logan. Glen married Judy Chrostoski on February 3, 2011. The mother of his three children is Marcia (Furlow) Green, whom he was married to.
Glen’s passion was farming, but that is not his only accomplishment. He received his degree in diesel mechanics at SIC in May of 1975, and after completing his apprenticeship at Ajax, he went on to work as a mechanic for Sahara, Peabody, and Black Beauty Coal Mines and Operating Engineers Local 318. He also worked for Jerry Fricker, Denny and Simpson Trucking and Richerson Excavating.
Survivors include his wife Judy Logan of Harrisburg; six children, Drew Logan and wife Nicole of Litchfield, IL, Kelly Rollins and husband Dave of Rantoul, IL, Darren Logan of Harrisburg; Jacqueline Davis and husband Jonathon of Thompsonville, IL, Jessica Claudio and husband Pedro of Bristol, TN, and Justin Lindsey of Johnston City, IL; eight grandchildren, Tyler Lightner, Keenan Logan, Lexi Logan, Bailey Rollins, Jada Claudio, Kyler Davis, Grayson Rollins and Kannon Davis; one brother, Tom Logan and wife Sherri of Carmi, IL; one sister, Joyce Preston of Carmi, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Glen will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday July 21, 2018 at Reed Funeral Chapel.

Carolyn Sue Conkle, 59, died on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Hamilton Memorial Rehab and Healthcare Center. Carolyn was born on August 13, 1958 in Hardin County, Illinois to Anthony and Martha (Levels) Davidson.
Carolyn is survived by her children, Patricia (David) Young of Smyrna, TN, and Jenny (Stephanie) Barnett of Marion, KY; grandchildren, Ivan, Ivy, Braxton, and Jacob Young, and Adreyn Bridges, and Izak Seago; brother, Jackie (Karen) Davidson of McLeansboro, IL; sister, Jo Anne (Don) Smith of Harrisburg, IL; and several nieces and nephew.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Martha Davidson; husband, Bradley Conkle, son, Little Andy Conkle; and sister Donna Miles.

Jackie Dale Potts, 60 of Harrisburg, died at 7:17 p.m., Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Harrisburg Medical Center. Jackie was born on January 10, 1958 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Alfred Earl and Mary Magdeline (Millikan) Potts. He married Patricia “Patti” Sanders on September 21, 1977. Jackie worked for Harrisburg Medical Center for 35 years. He was a member of the Mizpah General Baptist Church.
Jackie is survived by his wife, Patti Potts of Harrisburg; sons, Chad Aaron Potts of Harrisburg, Adam Dale (Lori) Potts of Harrisburg; grandchildren, Hailey and Paige Potts of Harrisburg; sisters, Brenda (David) Humm, Helen Duncan of Elizabethtown, and Carolyn (Kevin) Heaton of Harrisburg; brother, Ronnie (Evelyn) Potts of Harrisburg; sister-in-law, Charlene Bebout of Harrisburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Gwynn David Holbrook, 68, of Cary, North Carolina died on January 10, 2018 at Rex Hospital, Raleigh, North Carolina with his wife, Joyce, at his bedside. Gwynn grew up in Elizabethtown, IL.
Gwynn was born on April 13, 1949 in Harrisburg, Illinois to Gwynn “Dommer” Holbrook and Vada Brittain Holbrook.
Gwynn was a graduate of Rosiclare High, Rosiclare, Illinois. He later attended SIC, Harrisburg, IL and SIU, Carbondale, Illinois. After college, Gwynn served three years in the US Army and was proud to be a US Army veteran.
Gwynn, a part-time inventor, held a U.S. patent with his good friend, Bruce Hauck for a magnetic field generator and detector position indicator. Gwynn, also, held a second patent with another friend, Roger Warner for a small-parts counting machine.
Gwynn was an expert computer programmer and wrote several computer programs. He loved reading Isaac Asimov’s science fiction books. Gwynn enjoyed “Star Trek” Episodes and “Star Wars” movies. In fact, four beloved pet dogs were named after Star Wars characters: Chewy, Han Solo, Obi Wan, and R2D2.
Gwynn was successful in his chosen careers in the telephone and communications industries. He started out his career with Huffman Telephone, Memphis, TN. He, later, worked as District contractor supervisor for Contel Telephone Company, Hoffman, IL. His computer expertise led him to his next job as a Senior Software Engineer with Nortel Networks, Research Triangle Park, NC. After Nortel Networks sold off their IT division, Gwynn accepted a position at Gilmore Global Logisticsin Morrisville, NC. His final career was as a Systems Administrator of a nationwide database for the US Coast Guard in Elizabeth City, NC.
Gwynn was predeceased by his parents, Gwynn and Vada Holbrook of Elizabethtown, IL.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Joyce and beloved dog, R2D2, of Cary, NC. Additionally, he is survived by his brother, Ronnie Austin, Rosiclare, IL; sister-in-law, Angie Wallace, Rosiclare, IL; sister-in-law, Bonnie (Jim) Clemens, Gibson City, IL; and brother-in-law, Clark (Sharon) Wallace, Mt. Vernon, IA. Gwynn leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews: Kelly (Orbie) Ratliff, Rosiclare, IL; Shirley Jean (Wallace) Kash, Rosiclare, IL; and Micah Hill, Rosiclare, IL; Jeremy (Tara) Wallace, Rosiclare, IL; Marty (Jill) Austin, Harrisburg, IL; Scott Wallace, Northern, IL; and Timothy (Shelia) Wallace of Mt. Vernon, IA. Gwynn has one beloved Godson, Scott (Whitney) Telford, Troy, IL. In addition, Gwynn leaves behind, long-time and special friends: Roland and Sandy Telford, Hoffman, IL; Rick McWhorter of Cary, NC; Kim and Kris Lee, Cary, NC; and Bruce and Beth Hauck of Belleville, IL.

Jimmie Dale McDonald, 60 of Carrier Mills, IL died on June 26, 2018 at Harrisburg Medical Center in Harrisburg, IL. He was born in Gary, IN on February 3, 1958 to James Leroy and Shirley (Dalton) McDonald. He worked at Commercial Janitorial Services in Marion, IL.
Jimmie is survived by his daughter, Tiffanie Rae McDonald; son, Brandon McDonald; three granddaughters, Haylee, Kalliyah, Amiyah; grandson, Jayce; mother, Shirley McDonald; brother, Larry McDonald; sister, Helen (Richard) Thomas; niece, Arika (Chris) Smith; and great-niece, Brooklyn Smith.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Leroy McDonald; sister, Dianna Lee Blood; and brother, David Leon McDonald.

Michael Dewey Kimes died on Sunday, June 24, 2018. He was born October 20, 1954 in Marks, Mississippi to parents Lois Bernice Thompson Kimes and Dewey Kimes.
Mike is survived by his son, Christopher; his brother, Wayne (Sheila); nephew, Frankie Graves (LeCretia); his nieces, Christy Conkle (Mitchell) and Adrienne Tripp (Dustin); brother-in-law, Frank Graves; four great-nephews; four great-nieces, and many friends.
