Betty Griffith, 84, Elizabethtown, IL, died Wednesday May 23, 2018. She was a cook at Hardin County School for 32-plus years, Charter Member of the First General Baptist Church of Elizabethtown, IL, and a member of the Ohio Valley General Baptist Association.
Survivors include her children, Paula (Glenn) Samford of Cadiz, KY, Rita (John) McKinley of Eddyville, IL, Jane Griffith of Eddyville, IL, Jean Davis of Panama City, FL, Gary Griffith of Elizabethtown, IL;
grandchildren, Eva-Rae (Damon) Hall, Julie (Gary) Roper, Dax (Michelle) Samford, Rachel (Justin) Kizziah, Walter (Traci) Griffith and Calvin Griffith; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Midge (Bernard) Volkert of Elgin, IL; and sister-in-law, Wanda Shadowens of Howell, Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mabel Shadowens; and brother, Leonard Shadowens.
Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2018 at the First General Baptist Church in Elizabethtown, IL with interment in Empire Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 11a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
