3-8-18 DEATH launy lamar

Launy Lee Lamar, 43, of Herod, IL left this world to meet the Lord on February 24, 2018 in Fairmont, West Virginia. Launy was born November 15, 1974 in Angeles City in the Philippines to Roy Wayne Lamar. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.
He spent most of his life in Hardin County. He proudly served his county in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee.
In May of 1996 in Rosiclare, IL he married his life long love Michelle (Oxford) Lamar. Their love and family grew as they had two daughters, Makayla and Katilyn Lamar, and just recently, his first grandson Brantley, was brought into this world.
Launy was a coal miner who worked as a long wall production foreman for Harrison Co. Coal in West Virginia. It was this job he was proudly working to provide for his family.
He was an extraordinary man, one of a kind. Anyone whomever met him never forgot him. Life with him was a daily adventure for which his family was grateful. He was a wonderful loving father and husband. Launy left this world too soon, but obviously the Lord needed another good man.
Launy is survived in death by his wife, Michelle (Oxford) Lamar; two daughters, Makayla and Katilyn Lamar; grandson, Brantley Lamar; father Roy Lamar; step-mother, Donna Lamar; two steps-sisters, Bonnie Smith of Woodland Hills, CA and Tracy Goin of Renton, WA; one step-brother, Mike Goin of Rosiclare, IL; and numerous coal mining brothers, too many to name, but they know who they are.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Roy Lamar Jr.; grandmother, Juanita (Hurford) Lamar; and step-brother, Pat Goin of Washington State.
Hardin County Funeral Service, Cox Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A visitation will be held on Monday, March 8, 2018 at Cox Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Per Launy’s wishes he will be cremated after the visitation.
