Edie Lovirn Spivey, 83, of Rosiclare, IL, died on Friday, January 19, 2018 at the Rosiclare Rehabilitation & Health Care Center. Lovirn was born to Odie (Page) and Hillis Price.
She was a member of First Christian Church in Rosiclare, IL. She served for many years on local boards including the Rosiclare Memorial Public Library (as a member & trustee), the Hardin County Hospital Auxiliary, and the Hardin County Fluorite Museum.
Lovirn is survived by her sons, Danny (Georgia) Spivey, Randy (Tami) Spivey, Charlie (Melba) Spivey; grandchildren, Kendra (Clayton) Arnold, Amanda (Kory) Leighty, Barrett (Keshia Mercurio) Spivey, Jeremy (Courtney Webb) Spivey and John David Spivey; great-grandchildren, Kuri, Conner, Eleanore, Tristan, and Tinley; sisters, Laura (Billy) Hogan, Ethel (Doodle) Tolbert, Bonnie Carter and Barb Blackburn; half-siblings, Pearly (Harold) Lindsey, Bobby Price, Billy (Sharon) Price, Beth (David) Weaver, and John (Susan) Price.
Lovirn is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Spivey; her mother Odie Holbrook; her step-father, Cappy Holbrook; her father, Hillis Price; and many friends.
Hardin County Funeral Services, Cox Funeral Home, is in charge of arrangements. A visitation will be held on Monday, January 22, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Ed Lafferty will read the obituary and have prayer at 8:00 p.m. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Rosiclare Memorial Public Library and/or the First Christian Church of Rosiclare.
