Elvis Anderson, 76, of rural Elizabethtown, IL, died December 31, 2017 at his home. A memorial service will be held in his honor on Friday, January 26, 2018 at the Golden Circle in Elizabethtown, IL from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The service will include a celebration of his 77th birthday and a potluck supper. Friends are asked to bring finger foods, salads and desserts for the meal.
Elvis Anderson, 76, of rural Elizabethtown, IL, died at his home on December 31, 2017. He was born in Harrisburg, IL. to James Floyd Anderson and Mymbel Olena (Evans) Anderson. He was a retired superintendent for the Louisiana Dock Company, member of Bethany Church, and a longtime member of the Good Sam Camping Club.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Scott) Anderson; daughters, Karen Joy Anderson, Stacy Lee and Tim Grose; adopted son, Terry Scott and Nicole Anderson; great-grandchild, Jaylynn Nichole Anderson; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Joanne (Jim) Johns, June Richie, and Liz (Gene) McClusky; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mymbel Anderson; son, Daren Troy Anderson; daughters, Carri Marie and Terri Lee Anderson; one great-grandchild; brothers, Jame “Jonny” Anderson and Robert Charles Anderson; and sisters, Ruby Kessel and Betty Horning.
Hardin County Funeral Services, Cox Funeral Home, is in charge of arrangements. As per family wishes, Mr. Anderson will be cremated and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
