Richard Ray Holloman, age 83 of Maryville, IL, born July 18, 1934 in
Golconda, IL, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at his residence.
Richard graduated from Rosiclare High School in 1952. He earned a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Education from SIUE. He taught school for Collinsville High School for over 30 years, and coached tennis for several years. Richard served two years in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard L. and Della E. nee Goble Holloman.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Patricia nee Mankin Holloman, whom he married March 28, 1959; three sons: Richard T. Holloman of Kirkwood, MO, Ronald W. (Trish) Holloman of Weldon Spring, MO, and David P. Holloman of
Weldon Spring, MO; nine grandchildren, Tracy Lynn, Melissa, Andrew, Spencer, Ashley, Sterling, Vince, Rachael and Jinel; and a brother, Curtis (Connie) Holloman of Clinton, IA.
A memorial visitation was held at 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville, IL. A Memorial service was held at 3 p.m. following the visitation. Rev. Scott Carnes officiated.
Memorials may be made to the Collinsville United Methodist Church, and were received at the funeral home.
