Delbert A. “Bobby” Ford, age 48, of Golconda, IL, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
He was born in Harrisburg to the late Delbert and Mary (Young) Ford. He was married to Michelle Carretti on May 3, 2011 and she survives. He was a truck driver for Martin Marietta and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He loved his horses and the Nine Day Trail Ride, hunting and fishing outdoors, and he dearly loved his family.
Delbert is survived by his wife, Michelle of Golconda, IL; son, Austin Anderson of Carrier Mills, IL; daughters, Kassidy Ford of Harrisburg, IL; Abby Horton and husband Matt of Rosiclare, IL; Ella Staggs of Rosiclare, IL; Jamie Allen Staggs-Ford of Golconda, IL; and son, Benjamin Allen-Ford of Golconda, IL; grandchildren: Naeveh Ford of Harrisburg and Noah Horton of Rosiclare, IL; six sisters, Virginia Davidson and husband Allen of Eldorado, IL, Debbie Hunt and husband George of Carrier Mills, IL, Rosemary Clark and husband Clifford of Wayne City, IL, Ruth Widick and husband Tom of Eldorado, IL, and Lisa Driver and husband Keith of Rosiclare, IL. He is also survived by his mother and father-in-law, Susan and Ronald Carretti; and his horses, Snickers, Moon Beam, Bullet, and Angel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Tammie Cummins and Brenda Huett, and her husband Dan.
Services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Reed Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Leroy Hicks officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg.
