Elva O. Wilson, 73, of Shawneetown, IL died on Thursday, August 3, 2017, 11:07 a.m. at the Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado. She was born on October 1, 1943 in Rosiclare the daughter of the late Frank and Opal (Milligan) Cowsert. On October 10, 1966 she married Earl James Wilson.
Elva is survived by her daughters, Terri (Jeff) Guimond of Kankakee, Cheryl L. Wilson (James Schoeberl) of Shawneetown; two sisters, Fran Hickrod of East Dundee, Mary Cook of Shawneetown; two brothers, Frank Cowsert Jr of Powder Springs, GA, Larry Cowsert of Effingham; six grandchildren; three step-grandsons; adopted granddaughter, Stephanie Mustafa, and her three children; nine great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one brother, Harold Cowsert. Visitation for Elva was held on Monday, August 7, 2017 from 11 a.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown. Pastor Jack Hall conducted the service with burial at Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown.
Memorial donations in Elva’s memory may be made to the Deaconess VNA Hospice.
