Wallace Long, age 79, of Rosiclare, IL, passed away on August 3, 2017 at Hardin County General Hospital in Rosiclare, IL. He was born March 25, 1938 in Pope County, IL to Archie and Edna (Hicks) Long. He married Billie Bragdon on November 22, 1979; she preceded him on January 10, 2014.
He served in the U.S. Army. He worked at Anderson Chevrolet in Golconda. He later worked in the lab at Ozark Mahoning, and then at Hastie Mining Company.
He leaves behind his, step-daughter, Cyndi (Kevin) Carman; step-son, Terry (Mindy) Angleton; grandsons, Nicholas Shockley, Nathan Shockley, and Jeff (Julie) Angleton, Cameron Angleton; and great-granddaughter, Amber Angleton.
A funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville. Interment followed at IOOF Cemetery in Golconda. Rev. Roy Baker conducted the service. Military Rites were accorded by VFW Post 9227, American Legion Post 719, and the Army National Guard Military Honors Funeral Team. Visitation was held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
