Shirley Lucille Davis of Chicago, IL, formerly of Karbers Ridge, IL, was born on 07/09/45 to Emmitt and Bessie Littrell. She passed away from cancer after a valiant fight on 05/28/17, at Swedish Covenant Hospital, Chicago, IL, with her family at her bedside.
She married the boy next door, Rodney Davis, on August 22, 1965, and to this union two sons were born — Allen Wayne and Timothy Dale.
Shirley enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom while the boys were in school and attended many school functions. She was an avid bowler and was on many leagues. Shirley could knit or crochet any pattern and made many beautiful items. In Chicagoland at Christmas many places will be missing her famous Lacy cookies as they were requested year after year. Her home is surrounded by her lovely rose bushes which neighbors stop and take pictures.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Rodney Davis; her parents, Emmitt and Bessie Littrell; her brothers, Alvie and Everett Suits; her in-laws, Wayne and Catherine Davis; and her sister-in-law, Nina.
She leaves to mourn her passing sons Allen and Timothy (Aiylene); grandson, Alfred, all from Chicago; brother, Dale Littrell of Colona; and sisters-in-law, Arnita Holm of Des Plaines, Karen Lokcik and Debbie Davis of Chicago.
