Janice Evelyn Oxford, 77, of Elizabethtown, IL died on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Rosiclare Rehab and Health Care Center. She was born on May 1, 1940 to George and Nina (Riggs) Cronkrite. Janice was a County Bailiff for the Hardin County Sheriff’s Department.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Vernon E. Oxford; son Thomas (Kelly) Oxford; grandson, Blake Oxford; granddaughter, Natasha (Brennon) Williams; great-grandchildren, Brevin and Blaze Oxford, Thomas Michael, Bentley, and Nicholas Williams, Gabe and Jaidan Fowler, and Nathanial Massie; brother, Robert (Carol) Cronkrite and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George Cronkrite and Nina Austin; stepfather, Roy Austin; granddaughter, Ashley Nichole Oxford; brother, Bill (Gay) Cronkrite; sister, Winnie (Lenard) Daymon and sister, Betty Richardson.
Hardin County Funeral Service, Cox Funeral Home, is in charge of arrangements. A service will be held Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home in Rosiclare, IL. Family will receive visitors from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Peters Creek Cemetery. Officiating the service will be Rev. Greg Degrave. Donations may be made to Peters Creek Cemetery.
