Melva “Edna” (Lampert) Daniels, 75, of Centralia, formerly of Cave-in-Rock, and Richview, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Washington County Hospital in Nashville, Illinois. Edna was born September 6, 1941, the daughter of Charles McKinley and Janie (Abraham) Lampert in Cave-in-Rock, Illinois. She was previously married to Dale Sands, in which two children were born of the union and then later married Ron Daniels and they later divorced.
Edna is survived by her adoring son, John Dale Sands and Deeann Dibele of CA; loving daughter, Patricia Darnell and Jeff Ray of MD; cherished granddaughter, Elizabeth Eileen Darnell; and many nieces and nephews.
Edna is preceded in death by both of her parents; sisters, Mable Winters, Frances Long, Wilma Clarke; and brothers, Charles Lampert, and Jesse Lampert.
Edna treasured her time spent reading, sewing, and going to dinner with friends. She was an avid country music fan; and adored hummingbirds, squirrels, and dogs. Edna loved children, babies, and most of all being Grandma.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Cave-in-Rock, with Rev. Teresa Ashby officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Centralia, IL.
