Patricia R. Damron was born April 13, 1939 in Rosiclare the daughter of Clyde and Mallie (Gerhardt) Damron and passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville, IN.
She worked at the glove factory and cap factory in Rosiclare for several years. She managed and tended bar at an Elizabethtown tavern. Pat spent much of her retirement at the kitchen table working puzzles and watching hummingbirds. She could often be seen planting flowers around the yard. Pat kept up with technology and graduated from paper and pencil games to playing on the Kindle Fire Scott got for her. Many times she would have to ask him for assistance if she was stumped. Family was important to Pat and she was always glad to have a visit from her kids or grandkids.
Pat leaves behind her beloved children, Steve and Susie Moore of Rosiclare, Terry Moore of Elizabethtown, Pam Cox and fiancé, Mike Downey of Elizabethtown, Scotty and Annie Vaughn of Pontiac, Shannon Rose and George Conkle of Elizabethtown, and Angel Vaughn of Elizabethtown; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; siblings, Jackie Hamp of Rosiclare, Betty Todd of Rosiclare, Glen and Marilyn Damron of Peoria, Anita Fricker and Fritz Raines of Elizabethtown, Donna Cowsert and Hansel Cook of Rosiclare, Gary and Karen Damron of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Susie and Ricky Walker of Cave in Rock; nieces; nephews; and friends too many to number.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Darren; brothers, Bill and Dennis; and two grandsons, Todd Cox and Catlin Vaughn.
A funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the Community Chapel Church in Golconda, IL. The service was conducted by Pastor Robert Turner. Interment followed at Fluorine Cemetery in Rosiclare, IL. Visitation was held from noon until time of service on Saturday at the church. Visit alyfh.com to leave an online condolences.
