Hardin County Community Unit School District #1 will be having Kindergarten Registration for the 2016-2017 school term on Wednesday and Thursday, May 4 and 5 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the school office. Parents may drop in at any time during these hours. All parents who have children entering kindergarten next school year are encouraged to bring them to registration at this time. Each student will be given an Entrance Exam to better place the students in classes. If you cannot make this date, please call the school on these dates to schedule another time.
A child must be five (5) years old on or before September 1, 2016 to enroll. You will need a certified copy of your child’s birth certificate (hospital copies are not acceptable), social security card, shot record and proof of residency at the time of registration. An up-to-date record showing compliance with all immunization requirements, including a Blood Lead, an Eye Exam (by Eye Doctor) and a current physical exam must be on file at the school by September 1, 2016. Head Start physicals will be accepted if signed by a licensed physician and done within 1 year prior to entry into Hardin County School. A dental exam is also required by May 2017. The school nurse will be available to determine any immunizations your child may still need. All forms are required at the time of registration even though your child may already be enrolled in Head Start or EC/Pre-K.
