Rosemary Williams, 68, of Elizabethtown, Illinois died Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at her home surrounded by family. She was a member of Bethany General Baptist Church. Rosemary was born February 19, 1947, to Ava Willis Birch and Jim Birch of Elizabethtown. She has one sister, Sara Brown, who survives. In January 1965 Rosemary married the love of her life, Thomas Gail Williams. To this union three sons were born: July 3rd, 1965 – Thomas Roland Williams; March 22, 1967 – Michael Patrick Williams; May 9, 1975 – Jason Kiley Williams. During their marriage they faced something no parent should have to face. They lost their son Michael Patrick to a tragic accident. During Rosemary’s life she held many job positions. The first position was Candy Striper with her mother-in-law Imo Jane Williams as her supervisor. Can you only imagine?! Although she had many jobs in her lifetime, most remember her for her 25 years of service at Shawnee Telephone Company. During this time, she touched many lives. Preceding her in death were her mother and father, mother-in-law Jane Williams, father-in-law Tom Williams, brother-in-law Butch Williams, sister-in-law Toni William; special cousins Buddy Birch and wife Margie, son Mike Williams, niece Ashley Oxford, brother-in-law Lonnie Paul Brown. Rosemary is survived by her husband of 50 years – Tom Williams; sons Rod Williams and Jason Williams (Jamie); and six precious grandkids, Brennan, Shawn, Emily, Skyler, Jamison and Kyleigh; and five great-grandkids, Thomas, Bentley, Olivia, Lilli, and Nicholas; and two sister cousins, Mary Corte and Betty Norman. Rosemary also leaves behind a huge family and many friends too numerous to mention. Services were held at 3 p.m. Friday, August 21, 2015 at Cox Funeral Home in Rosiclare, IL with interment in Empire Cemetery. A dinner was held for family and friends at Bethany Church following the services.
