Herbert Roy Carr, 70, died Friday, February 6, 2015, at his home in Charleston, MS.
He was born on December 10, 1944, in Hardin County, Illinois to Rev. J. Roy Carr and Ollen Page Carr.
He worked for International Harvester Company in East Moline, IL after 34 years.
He is survived by his wife, D’Ann; his children, Roy Wayne Carr, James (Victoria) Carr of Manhattan, Kansas; Nancy Jane (Jerry) Biles of Moline, Illinois; and Peter Carr of Oakland, MS; three sisters, Helen (Wayne) Mayer of Farr West, Utah; Joy (Glen) Copeland of Metropolis, Illinois, and Faye (Doug) Van Bibber of Evansville, Indiana; two brothers; Jerry (Terri) Carr of Hardin County and Glen “Bimbo” (Jodi) Carr of Andover, Minnesota.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Rev. Harry Carr of Waterford, Michigan and Harley “Jake” Carr of Davenport, Iowa.
He attended Wildwood Baptist Church, East Moline, Illinois, and after moving to Mississippi in 2006, he joined the First Baptist Church of Charleston, MS.
He was a member of the Mississippi Valley Woodcarvers, International Woodcarvers Association, and Charleston Magnolia Garden Club.
